This is our Napa River Striper (Striped Bass) boat

She's a real Beast!!!

1968 StarCraft fibreglass tri-hull (11 feet 6 inches)

15HP Mercury 4 Stroke Short Shaft with 'Manual Start' :lol:

Minn Kota trolling Motor

Eagle FishFinder

Live Bait Tank

2 Rod Holders one Port, one Starboard - midships

3 Rod Holders at the stern

Custom Casting Platform

Custom Storage Box

She peaks out and starts cavitating nicely at around fifteen knots!

All jokes aside though, she gets a lot good of fish

(the statements above are true but luckily we don't have to go more than a mile.... or 1.6 kilometres for you other blokes)

She's a Beast! Tim going flat-chat down the Napa River! Check out the ROOSTER TAIL! Having a tri-hull, she is really stable and you can actually stand on the front to cast...

4.0Mtr Hornet Trophy

I'm really envious of Leith's boat (4.0Mtr Quintrex Hornet Trophy) looks like it would be purrrrfect for the Napa River!

Awesome machine! We went fishing at Balla Balla yesterday in Riggers "Stinkin' Carny Launch" with 8 horses of FURY!
We nearly planed...
Actually we did semi plane but with my fat ass up front she was more a displacement hull! :oops:

No problems with 'hole-shot' in my boat... there is none!
Wrap the tiller throttle full-bore AND?
sit and wait....

She'll bog down, then groan - get the passenger to move up the front and in less than five minutes you've just got on the plane...

Go off a straightline course (by turning slightly to the port or starboard) and she'll cavitate and slow down which is a good thing because at a blistering 10-15knots you wouldn't want to lose anybody overboard. It also teaches you the basic navigation skills of 'dead reckoning' and plotting a course point-to-point. Over a 1.6 kilometre trip we save many metres that other people waste by just driving down the river wherever they like and turning whenever they like...

April Boat Maintenance - Way Overdue!!!

April Boat Maintenance

Just making a short checklist for myself. This is an absolute minimum. I really should check the oil in the leg too...

Charge the Deep Cycle Trolling Motor Battery

Change the Oil in the Hubs (it has oil filled hubs, not grease and it looks a little milky... uh oh) :shock: :shock: :shock:

Check the Tire Pressure. After looking at these pics I've just attached - they look a little low...

Run the Motor in the Driveway (connected to water of course)

Get all of that crap out of the boat that I threw in there over winter... :oops: I notice that there is a brand new pair of skiis from a previous boat sitting in there - never used... put 'em on craigslist.com and sell 'em

and then, let's...

GO FISHING!!!

Lake Berryessa or down the Napa River??? Whatdya Reckon???

Well lemmme see now, uhmm - is your life insurance paid up? :lol: :lol:

Best a luck with it Bob - she looks to be a very seaworthy and fish magnet type vessel - I should imagine you will do well in her!

With those oil filled hubs & water/milky look - sometimes a long trip will heat the oil enough to evaporate the water out of the oil, at least it worked for me that way up here! Maybe a gentle flame from a butane torch applied judiciously?

Just a thought.
