Wookie Makes The Decision On New Rig

Post by wookie » Fri Jan 16, 2009 10:22 pm

Finally made the decision and got the new rig. Came down to a Patrol or a Prado and this one came up with the gear I wanted for the right price.
I was looking Australia wide but found the deal and service at Pilbara Toyota right here in Hedland to be as good as you would find anywhere. That was a real suprise.

Its a 2005 Prado GXL, Intercooled Turbo Diesel, 5 Speed Manual. Seems to be a great rig onroad and will be testing its offroad capability today with a good run up the coast.

Lookin Good!

Thats a two thumbs up ride and you have good backup in the lcal dealers - always an issue for the Pilbara, as I found out the hard way with the F truck!

Very nice Wookie, and very good idea buying local.

I also purchased a new car form Pilbara Motor group recently and was very surprised how competitive they were in comparison with the city dealers.

Cheers Leith

Oh yeah- once you put aftermarket tyres on the hard spare cover won't fit.....

Yep, Filled her up once. Seems to be getting pretty good economy. This tank has done a bit of everything. Highway running up to Cape Keraudren, bit of fun on the rocks there, sand run along the Spoil bank and Finucane and the usual shopping runs. So far so good.
Be nice if the rear power socket would run the fridge with ignition off though. :(

New Ride for Wookie

Post by Ross Compe » Mon Aug 10, 2009 1:15 pm

Great choice Wookie!I am a big fan of Toyota having owned
several over the years.
Very reliable and parts and servicing is readily available.
Looks like a really neat unit and it should be an economical and comfortable ride.
Just keep her out of the briny mate!
Kind Regards
