Competition Rules - Tag & Release

CHAMPION TAG AND RELEASE ANGLER

COST. Every financial member of the Club may fish this competition.
NOMINATION. Members do not need to nominate to fish this competition.
TIME. Members may fish at any time.
RECORDING CAPTURES. Anglers must advise the Weigh Master of their Tag and Release within 24 hours of capture. All captures must be recorded on a Port Hedland Game Fishing Club “Tag and Release Card”. Notification must be given prior, if the angler is going on an extended fishing trip, where 24hrs is insufficient time to submit tag cards.
BOUNDARIES. Members must fish within 100 nautical miles of Port the Port Hedland Fishing Club Gantry.
RULES. GFAA rules and regulations will apply for this competition.
The Club Committee shall be the sole adjudicator on any protests arising from this competition. The Committee reserves the right to alter, change, add or delete any rule which may improve the competition.
Line class used will be 4kg, 6kg, 8kg, 10kg, 15kg and 24kg.
Estimated weight of the fish must equal or exceed the line class used.
No sports fish will be eligible for Tag and Release points.
Anglers may only tag and release 4 fish of each species per day.
Fish tagged must be in good condition and must survive release. If the fish is not released in good condition or the angler believed the fish may not survive release the angler can not claim the capture as a Tag and Release.

Anglers must tag a minimum of 7 different species to be eligible for a prize.
Anglers need only touch the fish the fish to record a Tag and Release. Other anglers may assist with the release of fish.

Points.
Marlin 1000 points.
Sailfish 500 points.
Sharks 150 points.
Game fish 100 points.



The competition will conclude on the 31st of June 2007.
The angler who accumulates the highest number of points will be declared “Port Hedland Game Fishing Club Champion Tag and Release Angler”.
